For the World Cup, France replaces the injured Nkunku with Kolo Muani
As a result of Christopher Nkunku’s injury, France won’t be able to compete in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in Qatar.
Because of an injury sustained by France’s World Cup-winning striker Christopher Nkunku when the team was practicing on Wednesday, Randal Kolo Muani was inserted into the lineup in his stead.
Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga ran into 25-year-old Nkunku during the final few minutes of training on Tuesday night. Nkunku collapsed on the ground holding his left leg after being run into by Camavinga. Just before the squad traveled for Qatar, the French soccer association made the announcement that Kolo Muani would be taking over as head coach.
The federation has not disclosed the severity of Nkunku’s injury; nevertheless, images of him limping off the field following the tackle show him holding his left knee.
Nkunku was recognized as the greatest player in the Bundesliga due to the fact that he was instrumental in Leipzig setting a league record with 35 goals scored and 14 more goals assisted on. He has played in 23 games so far this season and has scored 17 goals.
Since making the move from French Cup champion Nantes to Eintracht Frankfurt in the winter, Kolo Muani has been quite productive in his new role. He has previously participated in two games for France that were played in countries other than France.
Didier Deschamps will not have the services of midfielders Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, who played critical roles in France’s triumph at the 2014 World Cup. Presnel Kimpembe decided against playing on Monday due to the fact that he had still not completely recovered from a hamstring injury that had sidelined him for the previous six weeks.
The match against Australia on November 22 will feature Raphael Varane, who is considered to be Deschamps’ top center back. It has been one month since the hamstring injury that required him to depart Manchester United on crutches.
